This event celebrates scholastic achievement by our Chaldean community’s High School and College graduates and rewards Academic scholarships to our finest graduates.  2007 will be the twenty-fifth annual celebration of the Chaldean Federation of America’s High School and College commencement ceremony.  We plan to give out tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships and essay awards.  The scholarships/awards are limited to those who are of Chaldean heritage and are graduating from High School or College in the 2006/2007 academic year.  This year CASA (Chaldean American Student Association) is coordinating the event and is also also giving out several scholarships from various chapters. 

FOR SCHOLARSHIP/AWARD APPLICANTS:

PLEASE NOTE:  The deadline for the scholarship/award applications has been extended to May 18^th, 2007

There are three separate scholarships/awards,

·        Academic Scholarships

Rewarded to well-rounded students with the highest academics.  65pts GPA, 25pts ACT/SAT, 10pts for extra-curricular & non-academic activities.

·        Newcomers Academic Scholarships

Similar to the Academic Scholarships but limited to new students having lived in the US less than 5 years.

·        Essay Awards

This is an essay contest – See application for this year’s subjects

FOR  NON-SCHOLARSHIP/AWARD APPLICANTS:

(for those who only wish to walk and/or have photo in book)

PLEASE NOTE: The deadline for NON-scholarship/award applications has been extended to May 30, 2007.

To walk in the ceremony and/or have your photo in the book, you must submit an application online or by mail to arrive no later than May 30^th, 2007.  The hardcopy photo must have your name and school name penciled on the back.  The uploaded photo must accompany an application to identity you.  If you forget to attach a photo, please resubmit the application with the photo.

ONLINE APPLICATION FORM SUBMISSION:

If you decide to use the online form application service please be sure to e-mail your digital photo.  A photo is mandatory.  Also, we have now added an application confirmation page online.  This page will contain your full name and school and will be updated every few days.  If you do not see your name listed after a few days of submission please e-mail kzetouna@gmail.com immediately.

TO ALL APPLICANTS (PLEASE READ)

Your family and friends are invited to attend the Twenty-Fifth Chaldean High School and College Commencement Ceremony on Thursday June 14^th 2007 (4pm) at the Millennium Center in Southfield . 

Each Chaldean graduating student (even those outside the USA ) who submits an application and photo will receive ONE free copy of the program book which is filled with graduating student photos and Chaldean educational material.  The Chaldean yearbooks are reserved to graduating Chaldean students and honored guests only.  For those outside the Detroit area (including outside the USA ), if you’re unable to attend the ceremony, we will mail you a copy of the book to your address if you submit an application & photo in time. 

Anyone wishing to purchase tickets to the Gala Party (June 14^th 7pm at Shenandoah), please call the CFA office in Farmington Hills 248-851-3023 or request them from any CASA members.  The tickets are $40.  The party includes dinner and entertainment.

We look forward to receiving your application and seeing you at the twenty-fifth Chaldean commencement ceremony at the Millennium Center in Southfield , June 14, 2007 at 3:30pm for students and 4pm for guests.  Students arriving after 3:30pm may not be able to walk with their respective school groups, therefore, please arrive on time.
