Because of its magnitude and urgency, the Chaldean Federation of America has partnered with various well-known organizations in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, etc., as well as with an international Jesuit organization to launch the “Adopt-A-Refugee-Family” initiative. |

Over the past three years, more than 80,000 minorities have been forced to flee Iraq to escape unrelenting violence and ethnic/religious persecution. Chaldeans are the original inhabitants of Iraq, but are now not safe nor welcome in their homeland. |

Legislation and Consultation
- CFA advocacy efforts on the Capitol Hill and its consultation to United Nations on Iraqi refugees resulted in:
- UNHCR recognizing and processing Iraqi religeous minorities as vulnerable group
- The Passage of US Senate Bill 2782: Recognizing Iraqi Religeous minorities as persecuted group
- The passage of House of Representatives Bill 3724: Admit Iraqis who worked for US government in Iraq with Special Immigrant Visa (SIV)
- The Passage of House of Representatives Bill 3828: Reducing backlog in processing security background checks on Iraqis
- The passage of US Senate Bill 2782/Section1247: Re-open denial or termination asylum cases starting on or after March 2003
